The Aquarium of the Pacific Watershed Exhibit gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about where our water comes from, major water uses, and ways to conserve water in our daily lives. Visitors can interact with a three-dimensional watershed model, “make it rain” to see how water as it lands on our mountains and flows to the ocean. IDeAs Consulting was responsible for design of electrical systems, lighting and lighting controls. The project is net zero energy and includes a classroom building with a green roof covered with coastal shrubs and grasses. This project is LEED Platinum Certified, the first in Long Beach and serves as an example of renewable energy, sustainable design, and reusing and conserving water.
