Brian Blaustein, LEED AP

Brian Blaustein is experienced designing electrical systems on a wide array of projects including educational, medical, civic and commercial facilities. He is an electrical engineer experienced in designing power distribution, fire detection and alarm, data/telecom, security, lighting control and renewable energy systems. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering as well as a Master of Business Administration. He also brings with him deep experience doing project management in the telecommunications industry, where he worked in wireless telecoms and understands the potential of smart building technology, broadband communications, high-speed data and internet networks in buildings. He uses these skills to support the critical interface between integrated design team members when designing cutting edge green buildings.

In his spare time, Brian is an avid cyclist, in the past 10 years, he has ridden a dozen “centuries”.

Prior to his career designing electrical systems, he did private real estate development analyzing, acquiring and managing investment properties throughout the United States. This experience in business and real estate development gives him insight into the importance of budgeting, financing, and balancing first costs against operational costs.

Brian is a LEED Accredited Professional and has worked on numerous LEED projects as well as projects incorporating net zero energy and net zero carbon targets. His passion is designing high performance electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, telecommunications networks and photovoltaic systems. He has been involved in the design of dozens of net zero energy commercial office buildings.

He is comfortable interfacing with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and civil engineers as well as landscape architects and other interdisciplinary groups to coordinate seamless system designs. Depending on the project requirements, Brian can help to optimize systems to provide clean power at an affordable price or help clients find Power Purchase Agreement providers. He has worked with dozens of cities, communities, businesses and institutions to help achieve their clean energy goals.
