Tina Leong, EIT, LEED GA

Tina Leong has over 15 years of experience designing electrical power distribution, lighting design and low voltage electrical systems in a variety of projects including office/commercial, industrial, libraries, retail, restaurants, courthouses, recreation and park facilities, community centers, low to high rise multifamily residential, California DSA – K-12 schools and community colleges, private schools and higher education facilities, laboratories, California OSHPD – hospitals, and Medical Office Buildings. She has expertise includes a wide variety of essential electrical engineering tasks related to the built environment, from site assessment to engineering analysis calculations, as well as managing project coordination and systems review from concepts through construction and post occupancy evaluation. She has led design for electrical systems including power distribution and circuiting, lighting and lighting controls, telecommunications/data systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, public address systems, central clock systems and audio-visual systems.

Her dual degrees in both engineering and the arts has fostered a deep interest in creative problem solving and integrated design. This unique multidisciplinary approach to project design implements best practices in electrical engineering design while producing inventive design strategies for more sustainable and energy efficient solutions.

Her experience includes projects that have achieved aggressive sustainability targets, including: Net Zero Energy/Carbon, LEED Platinum Certification, Well Building Certification, LBC Certification and CHPS Certification. Her lighting design experience includes residential, office/commercial, industrial, schools, hospitals, MOB, and site lighting and her technology design experience includes data centers, hospitals, medical clinics, commercial, and high-end residential projects.

In her spare time, Tina enjoys exploring new places, watching obscure B movies, and reading an occasional good book. She is most likely to be spotted at the beach for a leisurely jog or on a hiking trail to appreciate some good old fashioned nature. Tina also enjoys random activities like yoga with goats, kayaking with otters, and indoor climbing.
